What was Parasaurolophus?

Parasaurolophus was a large crested hadrosaur from Late Cretaceous North America whose long hollow nasal crest probably combined visual display with low-frequency sound production.

Air passages ran from the nostrils through the crest and back into the skull. CT models can calculate resonances, but no fossil records the larynx, soft tissue or actual call, so audio demonstrations are hypotheses rather than recordings.
